Overview 

Business is changing. More and more entrepreneurs, educators, consultants, creatives, and organizational leaders are discovering that the traditional ways of building a business are no longer enough. The pressure to constantly produce, compete, optimize, and scale has left many feeling disconnected—from themselves, from their communities, and from the very reason they began their work.

What if there was another way?

The Healing-Centered Business Certificate is a four-session learning experience for people who want to build businesses and organizations rooted in relationship, integrity, and collective wellbeing.

This program begins with a simple premise: the way we build our businesses shapes the kind of world we create.

Business is never just about products or services. It is about how we relate to people. How we make decisions. How we exchange value. How we organize ourselves. How we communicate who we are. Every business model carries a worldview. Every strategy reflects a set of values.

Throughout this certificate, we invite you to examine those assumptions and explore a different paradigm—one grounded in healing-centered leadership and expanded through Indigenous approaches to relationship, reciprocity, ceremony, and community.

In the opening session, Dr. Angel Acosta introduces the Healing-Centered Business framework and explores how healing, trust, relational leadership, and human-centered innovation can reshape the way we think about entrepreneurship and organizational life.

The remaining sessions are facilitated by Clarinda Tivoli, founder of The Matriarchal Business, whose work has helped leaders around the world imagine business beyond extractive models of growth. Rather than offering another collection of marketing tactics or business hacks, Clarinda introduces three powerful frameworks that invite participants to rethink the very foundations of business.

You will explore Consensual Business, a relational approach to ethics that asks what becomes possible when business begins with trust, mutuality, and the ability to truly feel together. Rather than seeing ethics as compliance, this framework invites us to understand relationship itself as the foundation of sustainable business.

You will explore Business as Ceremony, not as a symbolic ritual, but as a way of designing the entire business. From the way we welcome clients, to how we make agreements, create offerings, facilitate gatherings, and steward relationships, ceremony becomes a framework for organizing people around shared purpose and meaningful outcomes.

Finally, you will explore Marking, Not Branding, a profound reimagining of how we communicate our work. Instead of reducing ourselves to a marketable identity, this framework invites us to express who we are through lineage, responsibility, story, and relationship. Communication becomes less about selling ourselves and more about revealing the work we have been called to do.

Across four sessions, you will develop a new relationship with business itself—one that is more human, more relational, more ethical, and more aligned with the future many of us are longing to build.
