Kamau Zuberi Akabueze

Kamau Zuberi Akabueze is a strategy-oriented creative guide whose work has been devoted to uplifting the creative spirit for nearly three decades. Drawing from a career spanning brand strategy, design, advertising, and innovation, he has helped transform ideas, organizations, and creative trajectories for clients including American Express, Meta, Nike, Microsoft, Audible, and The Coca-Cola Company. Through his philosophy of Mundanity → Creativity, Kamau invites people to recognize creativity as something woven into everyday life rather than reserved for artists or innovators. His work through CREÅTIVE STEEPING offers a pathway toward self-discovery, compassionate expression, and the belief that "the art of becoming is already underway."

At the heart of Kamau's work is a commitment to helping people reconnect with their own creative capacity. Whether through immersive journaling, neuroarts, philosophical reflection, coaching, or experiential learning, he believes creativity has the power to transform not only individual lives but the cultures of teams, organizations, and communities. His work reflects a deep appreciation for collaboration, human flourishing, and the extraordinary possibilities that emerge when people are invited to see themselves—and one another—with greater imagination and care.

As an Acosta Institute Fellow, Kamau looks forward to learning alongside fellow leaders who are reimagining education, leadership, and community through healing-centered practice. He hopes to contribute his experience as a creative strategist while exploring new ways to cultivate collective imagination, meaningful collaboration, and more humane futures through the everyday practice of creativity.
