Kathy Sellitti

Kathy Sellitti is a reflective practitioner, truth-teller, and systems thinker who brings more than five decades of lived experience—and over 35 years of active unlearning—to her role as a healing-centered leader. As a white woman committed to dismantling white supremacy culture from within, Kathy holds a deep awareness of how trauma is perpetuated in personal, institutional, and cultural ways. Her journey has been shaped by a continuous process of seeing what she was once taught not to see—and using that awareness to support others, especially white individuals and institutions, in transforming toward equity and repair.

Her work is rooted in accountability, humility, and the fierce belief that healing-centered education and leadership must include a reckoning with whiteness—not as an intellectual exercise, but as a somatic, relational, and spiritual practice. Kathy offers a unique perspective on how dominant systems perpetuate harm, and she seeks to co-create liberatory spaces where that harm is not only acknowledged but actively interrupted. Her presence is one of steady clarity and compassionate rigor, especially in predominantly white spaces that often avoid the depth of transformation required.

As a Fellow, Kathy is here to grow alongside others and deepen her commitment to the paradigm shift the Acosta Institute is nurturing. She believes in liberation as a collective endeavor—and brings her whole self to the work of moving toward healing, justice, and belonging. With courage and care, she joins this community as both a learner and a partner in the long journey home.
