Jennifer Howard

Jennifer Howard is an educator, consultant, and writer with more than three decades of experience nurturing teachers and learning communities. Based in Poughkeepsie, New York, she brings a wealth of classroom wisdom and a deep love for helping educators sustain their passion for teaching. Through her consulting work, Jennifer designs professional learning experiences rooted in creativity, reflection, and restorative practice—spaces where teachers can reconnect with hope, purpose, and one another.

A former kindergarten teacher and lifelong student of imagination, Jennifer’s work is guided by the belief that teaching is not just a profession, but a calling. She helps educators rediscover the artistry in their work, grounding their practice in Black history, cultural relevance, and the courage to write and reflect through challenge. Her approach blends spiritual grounding, practicality, and poetic care—reminding educators that their light still matters.

Through the Acosta Institute Fellowship, Jennifer hopes to deepen her healing-centered leadership and collaborate with other educators committed to transformation. She is inspired to keep amplifying creativity, community, and endurance within education—building spaces where teachers feel restored, inspired, and reminded that they are both the artists and architects of change.
